🌱 How I Became a Therapist
Rooted in connection. Guided by authenticity. Committed to healing.
My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by a deep belief in the power of human connection. I’ve always been drawn to the moments when people feel seen—when they can exhale, speak freely, and begin to trust that healing is possible. That’s what led me to this work.
I became a therapist to create spaces where people can show up fully, without shame or masks. Where authenticity isn’t just welcomed—it’s the foundation. My training in trauma-informed care, EMDR, and attachment-based relational therapy allows me to meet clients with both clinical skill and genuine presence. Whether someone is navigating anxiety, ADHD, perfectionism, complex trauma, or identity exploration, I tailor treatment to honor their unique story, strengths, and needs.
Therapy with me isn’t about fixing—it’s about reconnecting. Reclaiming. And remembering that you’re already worthy of care and love.
I became a therapist because I believe healing happens in relationship. I’m drawn to the moments when people feel seen enough to lower their guard, speak honestly, and begin to reclaim parts of themselves that were lost or minimized. My work centers that relational space—bringing clinical skill, curiosity, and a steady commitment to justice and dignity for every person I meet.
I’m a Colorado native and I love the mountains—the long summer evenings, the way the light changes on the hills, and everything this place offers for grounding and play. That deep connection to landscape mirrors how I show up in therapy: steady, present, and attuned to what helps people feel more alive and able to engage with the world.
I’ve always rooted for the underdog. I see traits others call “different” or “difficult” as superpowers. I’m an advocate for people who choose their own path in the face of adversity, and I connect easily with countercultural, neurodivergent, and queer communities. My work is guided by a commitment to equity, inclusion, and honoring each person’s autonomy.
Education and training

Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Advanced training in EMDR and trauma‑informed care
Ongoing continuing education in attachment‑based, humanistic, and neurodivergent‑affirming practices

Professional experience
My background blends public service, community programming, and leadership in other industries, which gives me a wide-lensed understanding of systems and the people within them:
Direct practice with Denver Human Services in child welfare, supporting young adults aging out of foster care
After‑school programming in underserved communities, focused on safety, skill building, parental inclusion and belonging
Leadership roles in financial institutions and retail, where I developed organizational systems, team training, and practical problem solving
These experiences inform how I hold clients: I bring clinical competence and an appreciation for real‑world constraints like time, money, and bureaucracy.
Strengths that shape my work
My top StrengthsFinder results are Individualization, Responsibility, Restorative, Developer, and Strategic. Practically, that looks like:
Seeing what makes you unique and building treatment that fits you—not a template
Taking responsibility for reliability, boundaries, and clear therapeutic structure
Helping repair what feels broken and supporting steady progress
Developing skills, systems, and opportunities for growth you can actually use
Planning collaboratively with thoughtful, goal‑oriented steps
I value curiosity, humility, and radical human dignity. I’m with you for the complicated, ordinary, and courageous work of change.
How I work
My approach is holistic and individualized. I integrate:
EMDR for processing complex trauma and reducing the emotional charge of traumatic memories
Trauma‑informed care that prioritizes safety, pacing, and consent
Humanistic principles that honor your values, meaning, and autonomy
Attachment-based relational therapy that uses our therapeutic connection as a healing resource
I tailor treatment to each person—combining skills for immediate relief (emotion regulation, executive functioning supports, grounding) with deeper relational and trauma‑processing work when you’re ready.
Outside of therapy
I’m intentional about how I use my time because I know firsthand what burnout feels like. I prioritize quality moments with friends and family—including my four legged ones—and I find calm in nature and tending to plants.
Music, sunshine, and long summer days recharge me. You’ll often find me hiking, biking, playing in the water, or chasing sunsets.
I bring that same attention to rhythm, rest, and curiosity into session work: meaningful growth needs steady effort and room to breathe.
Who I work with
I work with teens 16 and up, college students, and adults navigating anxiety, ADHD, perfectionism, and complex trauma. I provide LGBTQ and transgender‑affirming care and welcome neurodivergent clients, creative thinkers, and anyone who’s felt misunderstood by the usual systems.
